If you don’t know already, we went to Disney World a few weeks ago! So I wanted to share my top 5 Disney snacks, for all those who are planning a trip or wondering what the food is like.
We booked it on a whim at the back end of last year and we were super excited to go back to the most magical place on earth (ok I was more excited than EmJay, but he was sharing my enthusiasm).
We booked a package through British Airways which included flights, hotels, park tickets and the quick service dining plan. If you don’t know about the Disney dining plan you can find out more here. We managed to upgrade our free dining plan to the regular dining plan, this meant we were going to receive 1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal and 2 Disney snacks each per day.
I’ll give you all a run down of our favourite table service and quick service restaurants soon, this post is all about the Disney snacks!
Getting 2 snacks a day for each of us meant we had around 36 snacks between the 2 of us for our entire trip. So these are our top 5 out of the ones we tried!
Key lime pie on a stick – Hollywood studios
I’d seen this a lot all over instagram and really wanted to give it a try, I was not disappointed! It was sweet, tart, cold and comforting all at the same time. All the textures made it such a great little snack.
Fries topped with pulled pork & cheese – Flame Tree BBQ Animal Kingdom
This is the only savoury snack which made the list, it was like a meal in itself! EmJay and I shared the portion with some onion rings for lunch, the pork was tender and full of flavour, together with the cheese and fries, it was a match made in foodie heaven
Mickey Beignets – Port Orleans French Quarter
We waited until our last night to get a portion of these, oh boy! It’s a good job we did or we would have loaded up on them every night and you woulda had to roll us back to the airport and onto the plane! They were delicious! Warm, light, fluffy and coated with powdered sugar so you are guaranteed to make a mess while eating them! Mickey shaped anything is always a win for me, but Mickey shaped donuts are definitely up there amongst my favourites
Chocolate croissant – food court breakfast
We got this one morning with our coffees, it was so so chocolatey! And the chocolate chips on top made each mouthful a joy to eat, the perfect accompaniment to a morning coffee.
Rice Krispy treats – everywhere!
This Disney snack really surprised us, we picked one up to top up our sugar levels one evening at the Main Street bakery in the Magic Kingdom. They weren’t too sweet, super crispy and with just the right amount of toppings/chocolate bits to make them feel super indulgent but without feeling heavy to eat. We even brought back a bunch of them as gifts on the last day of our trip to ensure that we used up all our snack credits! Win win for everyone I’d say!
These were our personal top 5 Disney snack favourites, there are 1000s more snacks available, some as big as meals like the fries we had, and some smaller bits and pieces just to keep you going. I’ve given you a taste of some of the others below, there are even some Disney snacks which we even came home with!
Now we’ve been back to Walt Disney World, I’ve well and truly got the Disney bug and I’m yearning to go back already. Let’s see if I can convince EmJay to take me to another Disney Park to try some new experiences and of course build some more Disney snack lists!
