I’m passionate about food, I learnt to cook and was inspired by my mum. My mum is an experimental Gujarati home cook and her food is absolutely amazing! But, realistically, every mum’s food is the best food right?
Since moving to London I have discovered so much. One of them, the food culture in the UK’s capital city is electric!
My cooking is always a mish mash of flavours, I love Indian spices and flavours but I’m also alot more adventurous with ingredients than my mum is. Her staples are chicken, white fish, lamb and vegetarian food – all delicious! But having dined in Michelin restaurants like Atul Kochhar’s Benares and Vivek Singh’s Cinnamon Club they have opened my eyes to all the other meats and flavour combinations that can be achieved using spices.
Cooking is something that helps me relax, most my free Sundays are spent in the kitchen preparing for the week ahead, I regularly make my breakfasts and lunches for the working week and prepare as much as I can so that our mid-week meals are a breeze after a day at work. Trying new ingredients and flavour combinations is always left for a Saturday when I can have some fun in the kitchen.
I hope you enjoy my recipes!
